Merry Makers: Our Name is our Purpose
Now, add in a few more people and it becomes a shared social experience. New friends are made, families come together and co-workers unite. A spark of community emerges . . . huh, maybe we are trying to save the world….one event at a time.
History
When there are two guys with unique skills, who enjoy serving others with their brand of ‘quirky’, what do they do? They start an entertainment business. That happened in the summer of 1990 with these young guys toting a suitcase full of balloons, a pair of stilts, a unicycle and some pocket magic.
It began with twisting balloons at Red Robin restaurants and soon we were on our way to the top — of the Space Needle, where we entertained people from all over the world. Along with our first Christmas came Real-Beard Santas, Elves and other characters that performed at corporate and private events. The next season Merry Makers was hired to operate the face painting booth and perform magic shows at Enchanted Parks & Wild Waves. Within a few years we jumped into bounce house rentals, inflatable obstacle course and slide rentals. Always seeking out what people will want, we were one of the first airbrush face painters in Washington. You may have seen us at a Mariners games or had your kids, or your younger self, painted at the Washington State Fair.
With a big Thank You to our great customers, we have become one of the top Event, Party Rental and Entertainment companies in Washington State. As from the beginning, we believe play and fun are good for everyone, any age, any race, any gender, religion or political view. All in all, it has been an excellent ride and we hope to continue our fun service for years to come.
UPDATE 2022 – We welcome Lisa Glabe, the current owner of Absolutely Entertaining, as the new owner of Merry Makers! Working with Merry Makers for 20 years, she brings her professionalism, enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to the company. We look forward to her taking the fun to a new level. After starting the business 32 years ago, Mark Wilson will pursue other interests, while relishing the many special moments this work has created.
